I’ve been homeschooling for over twenty years. And that, My Friend, is a really long time. (Some days are much longer than others. I know you know what I’m saying.) During that time I have come to know the in’s and out’s of homeschooling pretty intimately.
There are many struggles for homeschooling families. I don’t have to name them all here, in fact, it isn’t possible to name them all. Let’s just chat about one. Books.
Every school year we added books–a lot of books–to our library. We couldn’t keep them all (could we?) and two problems that had been unforeseen at the beginning of our homeschool journey emerged.First, how do we efficiently find the books we need? Second, how do we give our used books a new life with other families who need them?
To address both of these key issues, Dear Daughter and I created Hoot Book Revival–a one-stop buying and selling website designed just for homeschoolers. A convenient place for them to find needed books and to sell books ready for a new home. Like minded people doing what you are doing.
Right now, the biggest hurdle for Hoot Book Revival is getting the word out. The more homeschoolers who know about the website and join the book revival, the more helpful the site will be for buying what you need and selling what you have used.
Hoot Book Revival is committed to helping you–our fellow homeschoolers. We are scheduling travel to conventions, book fairs and college homecomings–anywhere that will help us introduce Hoot Book Revival to you. We are also creating a presence using social media (visit us at Hoot Book Revival ). Dear Daughter and I are talking and listening to homeschool group leaders from national, state and local organizations. We are doing our best to make this work for you. We are passionate about books and we are passionate about homeschoolers, but there is no way, no way, we can do this without you. Help us help you. Browse the site. Create an account. Post books and buy books. Give us feedback and spread the word.
